Our garden marquee offers the perfect backdrop for what will become a most memorable day of your life and is a stunning venue for your wedding reception. We have been hosting fabulous weddings for the past 15 years, celebrating with happy couples in our beautiful country pub gardens.
The Stag is a beautiful country wedding venue in the small, but picturesque village of Maidwell, Northampton and is set in picture postcard rural Middle England. If you’re looking for a traditional country wedding reception, then look no further.
We provide you with everything you need and make the whole event a fantastic experience. Our tailor-made service is delivered by our owner Rob Willoughby and his hard-working team. They will ensure every aspect of your wedding day runs smoothly, putting their years of experience to the ultimate use.
From a Fish and Chip supper, to BBQ, to three-course sit down meal, we can tailor a package to suit your taste and budget accordingly. We have good relationships with local suppliers to provide the highest standard of local produce in a hearty menu of your choice and a fantastic wine list and range of beverages to accompany.

‘What’s Not to Like’ “Booked The Stag as a one night stay over before travelling on to Sywell Aerodrome some 9 miles away to do a flight simulator experience. Expected great things following Trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The staff are absolutely lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The food both at dinner and breakfast were first class and the room, although small was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. If you like olde worldy pubs with great character, excellent food and ale and great staff then choose this one, you won't be disappointed.”
